The original Village Market located at the corner of California Street and 8th Avenue opened for business on July 31, 1992. We brought something quite new at the time to this “Inner Richmond” neighborhood corner store. We brought high quality organic produce from the best organic farms in the San Francisco Bay Area. We also brought a new level of quality service to the neighborhood and still treat our customers as our friends. The Village Market has for many years supported the local and regional organic farmer’s markets by purchasing and selling the best hand selected produce and fruits in our store.
My personal love for natural fresh food began as a child. I was fortunate enough to live in a neighborhood full of fruit trees to climb in my search for perfectly ripened fruit. From this simple childhood pleasure my love for quality foods and wines has continued to grow.
With the opening of the Village Market in San Francisco’s historic Ferry Building we are now a part of an unparalleled food culture and the farmer’s market that we love so much.
At our Ferry Building Store we feature a wide range of rare food products as well as an astonishing number of quality foods for the pantry. Here you will find specialty foods unique to California and the San Franciso Bay area as well as hand selected imported food products. We hope you enjoy your visit to our online store and please visit us on your next trip to San Francisco.
Sincerely, Kamron B.
